I cannot stand him. If he were a woman his books would be Harlequin romances, utterly dismissed as fluff by "serious" reviewers. And I say that as one with great affection fo (not to mention a onetime owner of a big library of) Harlequins! "Somebody Else's Daughter" looks interesting. I just finished the latest Mary Higgins Clark (can't remember the title -- they're all alike!), which was enjoyable. That was my fun fiction. My non-fiction book is a World War II memoir, "Abandoned and Forgotten," by Evelyne Tannehill. I had no idea Germans were thrown out of their home and lands by the East Prussians. The war orphans that results are called "Wolf Children" (something else I didn't know) and that's what this author is. Very interesting look at a forgotten/unknown chapter of WWII.

And I'm eagerly awaiting the new Jacqueline Mitchard. I wonder if that will be Oprah's book pick? Her very first one was Mitchard's "Deep End of the Ocean," and this book is a sequel to that. I like the symmetry.

Happy reading!Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12553309379795237911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1711051976754378893.post-57019319774661019712009-08-25T20:36:51.932-04:002009-08-25T20:36:51.932-04:00You got some great books in last week!
