Yesterday, April 15th, was Tax Day here in the U.S., which means lots of lucky people will get refunds of over-paid taxes.
Whether you’re one of them or not, what would you spend an unexpected windfall on? Say … $50? How about $500?
(And, this is a reading meme, so by rights the answer should be book-related, but hey, feel free to go wild and splurge on anything you like.)

Luckily, I got quite a big sum of money back on taxes. But I am being a good little girl and saving most of it. Some of it will go to travels over the summer, but I am actually going to try saving money for once!

For something different, I’m borrowing a question from … here! One of the very first questions ever at Booking Through Thursday. Back from 2005 when Laura owned the blog but, because it was so new, it didn’t get as many responses as it does now … so, why not revisit?

Here’s the question:
Some people read one book at a time. Some people have a number of them on the go at any given time, perhaps a reading in bed book, a breakfast table book, a bathroom book, and so on, which leads me to…
Are you currently reading more than one book?
If so, how many books are you currently reading?

Where do you keep your current reads?

Yes, I read 3 books at a time. Right now I am reading a YA book, a book for a book ring and an erotica book. I keep all of my current reads on the bookshelf/nightstand next to my bed!

I saw that National Library week is coming up in April, and that led to some questions. How often do you use your public library and how do you use it? Has the coffeehouse/bookstore replaced the library? Did you go to the library as a child? Do you have any particular memories of the library? Do you like sleek, modern, active libraries or the older, darker, quiet, cozy libraries?

Now that I use my book trading websites, its sad to say that I don't use my libraries. I get so many books now that I have way more than I can ever hope to read! I remember going to the library a lot when I was younger and I have fond memories of going to the library where my grandparents lived for story time!

Ok, its not the BEST, but I enjoy reading books by VC Andrews. Everyone gives them such a bad label. And while, yes, they aren't deep books, I find the entertaining :)

How about, “What’s the worst ‘best’ book you’ve ever read — the one everyone says is so great, but you can’t figure out why?”

Mine would definitely be Wuthering Heights. I was so excited to read it, but for some reason, I just couldn't get into it. I found it so boring! And since then, I have been scared to read other classics like Pride and Prejudice because I want to like them so much but don't want to be disappointed.

Ohhh! I want to see Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series turned into a movie! Even though she's getting a little too old now, I always picture Sandra Bullock in my head when I think of Stephanie Plum! And I really don't need to see anymore 300 or Watchman-ish type movies!

We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet.
What’s the best book that YOU haven’t read yet?

Gone with the Wind. I LOVED the movie! And I have tried several times to read the book but I just can't get into it! And everyone tells me how great it is! It's still in my TBR to read someday!

I put all of my books in alphabetical order! It can be a pain sometimes because I get a lot of new books that I have to fit and then rearrange the shelves, but I have slight OCD and this appeals to my senses the most!

I am inspired by my fellow readers. I belong to several trading sites and get great ideas from there. One of the sites, I am more involved in and it really feels like friends talking about books. I get so many great ideas from them, and they are more than willing to lend books out!

If you’re anything like me, there are songs that you love because of their lyrics; writers you admire because their songs have depth, meaning, or just a sheer playfulness that has nothing to do with the tunes.
So, today’s question?
What songs … either specific songs, or songs in general by a specific group or writer … have words that you love?
Why?
And … do the tunes that go with the fantastic lyrics live up to them?
You don’t have to restrict yourself to modern songsters, either … anyone who wants to pick Gilbert & Sullivan, for example, is just fine with me. Lerner & Loewe? Steven Sondheim? Barenaked Ladies? Fountains of Wayne? The Beatles? Anyone at all…

Also, if anyone's familiar with blogspot, I'm having a hard time with the pictures. Everytime I try to put a picture on here, it automatically goes to the top and then I have to move it and it messes up the whole post. Any tricks for this?
