TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
My two teasers:
"As a native of South River, I was particularly afflicted because South River is Jersey concentrate, an enclave of tidy, sing-family homes straight from the backdrop of Springsteen's 'My Hometown.' Lots of bleached sidewalks and chain-link fences surrounding patchy lawns littered with Doritos and McDonald's bags."
~pg 7, The Penny Pinchers Club by Sarah Strohmeyer
I am loving this book, too!
ReplyDeleteI just love the various titles I come across on various blogs. It just makes me realize anew that I will NEVER get to read everything! I like the looks of the one you're quoting.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'm doing this right, but here's a teaser from page 2 of Shooting an Albatross by Steven Lundin.
"Everyone has secrets, but at 94, the most disturbing secrets have a way of becoming someone’s truth. Before finding Floyd, I wondered if he remembered what he had done. Had he lived with his lies for so long that he no longer knew the truth?"
It falls under "historical fiction" I guess, as it's set in 1943, when, for the only time in history an entire season of golf is canceled. (Who knew? Not me!) And yes, it's about LOTS more than golf -- got your suspense and some romance and, as the Army took over the course, plots deailing with the military. A page-turner.
