Musing Mondays- February 9, 2009

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about bookmarks…What do you use to mark your place while reading? Do you have a definite preference? Do you use bookmarks, paper, or (gasp) turn down the pages? If you use bookmarks, do you have a favourite one?

I prefer to use bookmarks. I don't really have a favorite one and if I'm on vacation and get a new book or lose my other one, I'll just grab a piece of paper from somewhere. I have an envelope full of bookmarks that I've randomly collected from places so I can just grab from there when I loose one. I know that I don't like the metal ones with the pretty things on top. They are too bulky--I like flat ones. And I definitely don't turn the pages down!

  1. I like flat ones too! I am going to check out the magnetic ones many have been talking about.

  2. I don't know how people can use the metal ones. It seems they would mess up the binding.

  3. I have a metal curvy one and it resides in the desk drawer. Gets in the way and doesn't lie flat or stay in the back of the book while I read. Give me flat ones any day. :)

  4. Remember, librarians will haunt your dreams if you dog ear the pages of library books! I keep a container of book marks at the circulation desk. I always use one myself and go through phases-- right now I have a cityscape of Oxford, but I also Have one my daughter made in the first grade. I have a cool metal one a student gave me, but never use it. I should make it into a pin!
