The Sunday Salon- May 9, 2010
The Sunday Salon
So one of the most stressful weeks at school is over. Every year for Mother's Day, my kindergarten class has a Mother's Day Tea. The kids recite a poem, with each student having a line to say, they sing 4 songs and then enjoy tea, lemonade, and cookies with their moms while showing them all the things they made for them. It's so cute but its soooo much work. This year was tough...the kids had a hard time remembering their lines and I had a lot of kids absent throughout the week so they had a lot of makeup projects to make. But they did so well and were so cute! Although this is the first time that I have had one mom not come. The little girl new that her mom wasn't coming the whole week, but she was still so upset. I wore her corsage and a couple of the moms adopted her for the morning, but I still felt so bad for her!
I finished and reviewed the following books this week:
Jekel Loves Hyde by Beth Fantaskey
Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs
The Beautiful Between by Alyssa B. Sheinmel
I fulfilled items in the following challenges this week:
2010 100+ Reading Challenge: 53, 54, 55
2010 Young Adult Reading Challenge: 39, 40, 41
ARC Reading Challenge 2010: 37, 38, 39
2010 Debut Author Challenge: 15
I am currently reading We Hear the Dead by Dianne Salerni and up next is The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting.

Sounds like you had a tough, but rewarding day with your kindergarden kids. And it also sounds like you had a lot of great reading done :-)
