Book Review- Jennifer Scales and the Messenger of Light

I just finished Jennifer Scales and the Messenger of Light by MaryJanice Davidson and Anthony Alongi. This is the second book in the series.

From the back cover:

Jennifer Scales is trapped in the middle of tensions between weredragons, beaststalkers, and wereachnids. If peace isn't found soon, whole races can be lost- and her family destroyed...

Morphing into a weredragon has befome a fact of life for Jennifer Scales, who is just starting to own her wings. But her magical inheritance does not stop there. She's learned that she's also half beaststalker. For ages, beaststalkers and weredragons have been mortal enemies-with tensions only heightening after recent deaths.

Now, her discovery that her long-lost half-brother is a wereachnid further blurs her understanding of who is family and who is the enemy. Sibling rivalry reaches new heights when she finds that he is bent on payback for a lifetime of abandonment, with her family being his number on target. She must summon her powers as a weredragon and beaststalker to convince everyone to get along- before they take matters into their own claws...

This book is okay. I am still having a hard time getting into them. I think there is too much science fiction in these books and not enough humor to really interest me. But I have the next book in the series to read, and I'm going to dive into it now.

I gave this book a rating of 3/5.

This book fullfills the items for the following challenge:

Paranormal 999 Challenge: Dragons (can also be used as wereanimals)
