Weekly Geeks- January 31, 2009

What are you passionate about besides reading and blogging? For example, are you crafty (knitting, woodworking, scrapbooking, model building)? Do you cook? Into gaming (computer or board)? Sports (player or spectator)? Photography? Maybe you like geocaching, rock climbing? Or love attending events like renaissance fairs, concerts? Music? Dancing? You get the idea.
Tell us why you're passionate about it. Post photos of what you've made or of yourself doing whatever it is you love doing.

I am a die-hard Florida Gators fan! When I was in school there, I went to every home football and basketball game. Since I've graduated, I've gone to at least one game of each sport every year. When the Gators went to the National Championship in '06, my best friend and I flew out to Phoenix but the tickets were way more than we expected so we couldn't go. This year, we bought National Championship tickets early on, just in case, and sure enough, we got to go! It was one of the most fun days of my life, and we are planning on going to Pasadena next year if the Gators go to the championship again!

Here is a website that you can visit about their athletics: Gatorzone

Here is a picture of The Swamp--where the Gators play football.

Here is a picture of us at this year's National Championship game!

  1. that is awesome that you got to go! I love college football, although my school isn't nearly as good as Florida. I bet the game was so much fun

  2. As a Big 12-er,... I'll just shut up and wait til next season. NOT that I have any love for OU, either but, still.

    Congrats on a great season.

  3. I knew someone had to do a sports WG. Great pics!

  4. Very cool!!! I would love to be near U of M so that I could attend their football games...this is a great passion to have!

  5. Also great that you get to travel some to follow your team :o)

  6. This Weekly Geek post made me the most jealous! I want to be a GATOR so badly. I have an M.S. in Reading from Florida International University in Miami, but want to do my doctorate in Children's Lit at UF. I have been begging to move there for three years (since I completed the masters). I'm taking the GRE next month and crossing my fingers that my hubby can transfer to Tampa. Then, I can make the two hour drive to Gainesville. Otherwise, I'll be stuck in an undesirable program at FIU. UGH.

I also see you live in Windermere. We spend a lot of time there as my aunt lives in Isleworth. Love Windermere. It retains some of the old Florida charm that South Florida so sorely lacks!
