Book Review- Shiver

I just finished reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

From Goodreads:

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human ... until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

I have heard such great reviews about this book so I couldn't wait to get the chance and time to read it.  It was very engaging and I could see where Twilight fans would enjoy reading this one.  It has the same obsessed-love feel. (which I have to say I usually, and in this case do, enjoy).

The only thing I had a problem with was that the obsession seemed to come so quickly.  I know that Sam and Grace had  been watching each other and "falling in love" while Sam was in werewolf form, but it just seemed to quick to me.  And it seemed that Grace went from not knowing werewolves existed to having Sam sleeping in her bed in human form in no time at all.  That part was a little too neat and tidy for me.

But other than that, I enjoyed it.  I could easily see it being played out as a movie and I could see it being a hit.  And I'm glad I have the next book, Linger, in my hands to read right away!

I gave this book a rating of 4/5.
