The Sunday Salon- August 9, 2009

Well, last Monday I got Lasik done on my eyes! And my eyes are great! The only thing that hurt at all was the thing they use to hold open your eyes. I have really small eyes and at the last minute they weren't sure they were going to be able to do Lasik because of this. So they pried my eyes all of the way open. I had a little bit of bruising and swelling on the bottom of the eye socket/top of cheekbones. But no pain in my actual eye. Right afterwards I just HAD to keep them closed. It didn't hurt at all but it was this weird compulsion to close them. But the assistant put drops in them and it was fine although really red. I went home, slept for 3 hours, woke up and the redness was completely gone. They said I would probably experience grittiness or dryness but I didn't at all! The only thing that is a pain in the butt is the goggles I have to wear to bed. I am a really light sleeper and these bother me so I haven't been sleeping much. And I can't wear eye makeup until Monday (I never go without makeup--I'm scary :)) And the drops--I have 23 drops a day! I'm hoping when I go back on Monday they cut that way down, because I am tired of the drops!! But I am SOOOOOOO glad I got it done! (I had a cataract in my right eye so they said the best I would be would be 20/20 but probably 20/30...well, I am 20/15!!!) YAY!

Ok...enough with the rambling :)

I finished and reviewed the following books this week:
Real Vampires Get Lucky by Gerry Bartlett
Duplikate by Cherry Cheva

Hollywood Is Like High School With Money by Zoey Dean

I am currently reading Speed Demon by Erin Lynn and up next is How It Ends by Laura Wiess for a blog tour.

  2. yeah...I wasn't so happy that I wasn't allowed to read at all that day--but the doctor said I was good to read the next day so I went for it!

  3. Wow, you're very brave! I've been dithering around for years, trying to talk myself into Lasik. I would sooo like to get rid of these reading glasses, but I'm such a coward, too. Hope you get to stop all those drops soon - 23 a day would be a real pain to keep up with.
